What is a major advantage of Quintura?
You could find information on the Web with one click.
How does it help search the Web?
The web search client software,
Quintura Search™
, is your Web search with one click. The software offers a revolutionary solution to the problem of a keyword-based search that returns too many irrelevant results. You are able to build your search query using a visual dynamic interface and find relevant information on the Web easier and faster. You will save time by not clicking every search link of first several pages returned by the search engine with the hope to find your search result.
What is a visual semantic map and what is it used for?
The visual semantic map is a graphical map that shows contextual relationships among words in the query. This map helps build a search query by giving hints or words to define the context of the query. The map shows only those words that have close contextual relationships with the keywords in your query. Click a word to change your query and get relevant results that will comply with your new query.
Does the software use its own Web index?
At present, the software builds the map based on information contained in links and summaries of those links returned by a search engine. We plan to use a Web index of a search engine to allow you searching even faster for more relevant results. We also plan to have our own Web index that will be based on contextual relationships among words.
How can I start searching with Quintura?
To start searching with Quintura, just type a word or phrase in the query field and click Search or press the "Enter" key. After you have the map, add or exclude words on the map to/from your search query and see the results in the
Results
pane in the right part of the program window.
What words are shown on the map?
The map shows the words that are contextually related to your query and helps you make the query more accurate. The words are distributed on the basis of how closely they are related to the query words. You can see the semantic relationships among the words.
How to build a search query?
You can build your query by clicking the words that you choose. If you point to a word, new words will appear to make your query more specific and help you receive the result more relevant to context you search.
How to employ the context of the words?
Being close together on the map, the words show their semantic closeness. Since any word has different meanings, it can be connected with other words on the map. Choosing only one of them, you can build the query and set the direction of your search.
How to exclude a word from the query?
To exclude a word that is not contextually related to your query, point to the word and then click the
Out
button. You can also right-click a word, and then choose
Exclude from results
.
How to add a word to the query?
Point to a word and click to add it to your query. To add a new word that is contextually related to your query but is not on the map, double-click on the empty place of the map and type a new word in the query field that will appear. The typed word will be added to your query.
Why are words of different sizes?
The size of a word shows its significance in relation to the query. The larger words have a strong contextual relationship with your query while the smaller words do not have strong contextual relationship with your query.
How to reorder the received results so that most relevant link is positioned first?
The results received during the search are relevant to your query and the changes you make to your query by choosing essential words on the map and excluding unnecessary ones update your results, thus dragging your query link to the top.
Can I save the map to use it next time for searching?
Quintura Search allows you to save your visual map as a project and load it later. When you save a project, you save both the current query, options, and results. To get new results, click
Refresh
. After you refresh results, those links that have not been initially found (when you saved the project), are marked as new.
Do you plan any software upgrades?
We constantly add new features to our software. Once any update or new version is released, Quintura will notify you and let you download an updated version.
You get a message "Search engine not found" in response to any query
.
